How do Rebate Insured Commitments work? And how can I opt-in to a Rebate Insured Commitment on AWS?

Last updated: January 31, 2026

Rebate Guaranteed Commitments are another opt-in feature our AWS customers have to honor the Guarantee of Archera's Guaranteed Commitments. Azure customers use Rebate Insured Commitments by default.

How do Rebate Guaranteed Commitments work?

Instead of giving back unused commitments through the Commitment Buyback page, Rebate Guaranteed Commitments actually stay in the customer's account. In the event of underutilization, after the initial lock in period (30 days or 1 year), then Archera will automatically send a cash rebate to the customer for any net negative savings from the commitment. This rebate can be used to offset other GRI premiums, or the customer can provide a bank account in the Payment Planner page to receive an ACH transfer for the rebate amount.

How do I set up Rebate Guaranteed Commitments for my AWS org?

To set up Rebate Guaranteed Commitment, you will need to add your preferred bank account to withdraw balances to. To do so, navigate to the Payment Planner page shown below and click "Add Payout Account". This is the account that you can ACH transfer funds to when withdrawing. At the end of each month, if there were underutilized Guaranteed Commitments, then you will automatically see that cost rebated into this page ready to be withdrawn or put towards other Guaranteed Commitment premiums.
